A 12.3mm chassis that compromises nothing

The screen is a 16-inch OLED in WQXGA+ resolution (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung manufactures its own OLED panels, which gives it particular legitimacy on this point: the deep blacks and colorimetric accuracy inherent to OLED are unattainable for an IPS panel of this size. For a professional who spends hours in front of their screen on the go, this choice makes a concrete difference.
Snapdragon X2 Elite: the ARM bet against Intel
The Galaxy Book6 Edge is radically different from the rest of the Galaxy Book6 range launched at CES 2026, whose Ultra, Pro, and standard models feature Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. Here, Samsung has opted for the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite chip in its X2E-88-100 18-core CPU version.
This SoC integrates an NPU reaching up to 80 TOPS, making it a certified Copilot+ PC, compatible with all artificial intelligence features offered by Windows 11. Samsung indicates that this NPU also optimizes performance and energy consumption according to user needs. The announced battery life reaches 22 hours, a promise that the ARM architecture makes credible: Qualcomm chips generate less heat and consume significantly less energy than their x86 equivalents in everyday use.
Lists from resellers, published by Cyberport in Germany and Austria several days before the official announcement, had already revealed these features in advance.

Samsung France announced a planned release for the beginning of May 2026, without specifying a price at this stage. The absence of a price at the time of the officialization is unusual for a consumer product, and suggests that Samsung is still finalizing its pricing strategy for the French market.
Lists from German resellers spotted before the officialization indicated a starting price of 2,199 euros for the 16 GB / 512 GB configuration. If this range is confirmed, the Galaxy Book6 Edge would position itself directly against Apple's 14-inch MacBook Pro and the Dell XPS 16, two established references in the premium ultrabook segment.
Why France first?
Samsung's decision to launch the Galaxy Book6 Edge first and only in France remains unusual. The standard Galaxy Book6 range was deployed simultaneously in eight European countries on March 11, 2026, including Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Nordic countries, according to Samsung Electronics. Why this special treatment for this model?
Samsung provided no official explanation for this geographical exclusivity in its press release of April 29, 2026. Several hypotheses remain open: a partnership with a French distributor or operator, a market test to assess the appetite for premium ARM PCs in continental Europe, or simply a sequential launch window before a wider deployment. Buyers in Germany or the UK will, for now, still have to wait.
This launch is part of a broader trend: Microsoft with the Surface Pro, HP with the EliteBook Ultra, Lenovo with the ThinkPad T-series ARM are progressively betting on Qualcomm chips for their ultra-portable ranges aimed at professionals. Samsung joins this movement with a positioning clearly focused on mobility and design, complementing its Intel range which is more focused on raw power.
