The Google Pixel 11 appears in a first official teaser before its presentation on August 12, 2026. Google also unveils a mysterious multicolored lighting.

Google has officially launched the promotional campaign for the Google Pixel 11 on July 15, 2026. The page published on the Google Store bears an unambiguous title, "The next generation. Google Pixel 11. August 12", which confirms both the range name and the date of its presentation.
The Made by Google event will be broadcast live from New York on August 12. Pre-orders for the Pixel 11 will open the same day, according to the official Google Store page. Google has not yet indicated when the first devices will be delivered, nor if all models will arrive simultaneously in each country.
This confirmation ends the uncertainty about the schedule, but not about the exact composition of the range. Unofficial information suggests four smartphones: the Pixel 11, the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. For now, Google is talking about its "new devices" and the next generation of Pixel, without publishing a complete list.
Pixel Glow becomes the main material clue of the teaser
The teaser briefly shows what appears to be a Pixel 11 Pro in a gold finish. To the right of the camera module, a small circular element capable of displaying multiple colors appears. Its location corresponds to the area occupied by the flash and the infrared thermometer on previous Pro models.
This component is generally referred to as Pixel Glow, but Google has not yet officially confirmed this name. The teaser therefore constitutes a visual confirmation of the lighting, not a complete presentation of its function or commercial name.
According to the analysis published by 9to5Google, the multicolored animation visible in the video is concentrated in a circle next to the cameras. This observation suggests a more discreet system than the large luminous areas used by some Nothing smartphones.
The hypothesis of lighting intended for notifications does not come solely from leaked renders. In April 2026, Android Authority had discovered in a beta version of Android 17 references to a function named Pixel Glow. The code strings evoked discreet lights for calls from favorite contacts, hands-free visual feedback, and the need for hardware lights.
These elements still come from an analysis of software under development. A function present in the code can be modified, postponed, or deleted before commercialization. The teaser nevertheless strongly reinforces the idea that Google is indeed preparing a physical lighting component for at least part of the Pixel 11 range.
What could the Pixel 11 lighting be used for?
The first plausible function is that of a notification indicator visible when the phone is placed face down on a table. The lighting could signal a call, an important message, an alarm, or the battery status without turning on the screen.
Software clues also suggest integration with Gemini. Pixel Glow could provide visual feedback when the assistant is listening, processing a request, or generating a response. This function would have practical utility for remote voice interactions, clearly indicating whether the microphone or the artificial intelligence service is active.
Google could also use color to distinguish different events. This possibility is not confirmed, however. No official document yet specifies whether the user will be able to choose colors, associate an animation with a contact, or allow third-party applications to control the lighting.
The real usefulness of Pixel Glow will largely depend on its openness. A simple indicator reserved for Gemini risks remaining accessory. A system linked to Android notifications, priority calls, and live activities could become a distinctive feature, especially for users who miss the old notification LEDs.
The thermometer on the Pro models could disappear
The position of the new lighting element fuels another hypothesis. On recent Pixel Pro models, this part of the camera module houses, among other things, a temperature sensor. The Pixel 11 Pro could replace this thermometer with the lighting system.
Several unofficial reports published before the teaser already pointed in this direction. Android Authority reported in May 2026 that an RGB LED array could replace the thermometer on Pro models. The source of this information was a leak and not an announcement from Google, which still prevents us from presenting this change as a certainty.
The smartphone shown by Google appears to belong to the Pro range due to its camera configuration, but the manufacturer does not specify its model. Therefore, nothing confirms that Pixel Glow will be present on the standard Pixel 11, the Pro Fold, or the entire family.
A campaign focused on Gemini and the Pixel ecosystem
The invitation associated with the event mentions "Gemini Intelligence" and a new range of Pixel devices, according to 9to5Google. Google thus seems to be preparing a broader presentation than a simple hardware refresh.
This wording suggests a significant role for artificial intelligence features integrated into the phone. Google could highlight local processing, multimodal interactions, or new photographic features. However, the teaser provides no verifiable information on the Tensor G6 processor, performance, battery life, or camera capabilities.
The choice of lighting associated with Gemini can also meet a need for transparency. A visual signal indicating that an artificial intelligence is listening or processing a request would be more immediately understandable than a simple icon on the screen. We will have to wait for the presentation to know if Google will really exploit Pixel Glow in this direction.
The Google Store offer does not yet concern France
The American Google Store is promising an exclusive offer to new subscribers who agree to receive its marketing emails. The official page specifies that the benefit will be available on August 12, without revealing its value.
The conditions noted on the American version limit this operation to US residents with a local delivery address. Registration must be done with a Google account between July 15 at 10 a.m. and August 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. The code must be sent on August 11 and used by August 27, 2026 at the latest, according to 9to5Google.
This promotion should therefore not be presented as a global discount. As of July 15, 2026, Google has confirmed neither an equivalent offer for France, nor prices in euros, nor local trade-in conditions. French buyers will have to consult the national version of the Google Store as the event approaches.
Prices and features: leaks remain unconfirmed
Recently deleted Amazon pages have revealed prices, colors, and features attributed to future Pixels. They notably mentioned a Pixel 11 with 256 GB of storage sold for $899 in the United States. However, some contradictory or clearly provisional data was included in these listings.
This information cannot be considered official. The pages could have been commercial drafts containing temporary values. Google has not yet confirmed the storage capacities, RAM, batteries, or prices for the range.
The only reliable method is therefore to wait for Made by Google. August 12 should notably allow us to verify which devices have Pixel Glow, if the thermometer disappears, which functions are linked to Gemini, and if French pre-orders begin immediately.
The first teaser of Google Pixel 11 finally confirms three solid elements: the new generation does indeed bear this name, it will be presented and available for pre-order on August 12, 2026, and at least one device has a multicolored circular lighting. Everything else, from the Pixel Glow name to the prices and specific functions, still needs to be confirmed by Google.
