Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This policy explains what personal data may be processed when using Wamigeek, accessible at https://wamigeek.com, why it is used, and what your rights are.

Data Controller

The data controller is:

Kevin Loize
32 Robert Schuman Street
02300 Chauny
France

Kevin Loize acts as a non-professional editor of Wamigeek and as the director of publication.

For any questions or requests regarding your personal data, you can use the form on the 'Contact' page, indicating in your message that it is a request related to personal data.

Data Processed and Purposes

Contact Form

When you use the contact form, Wamigeek receives your first name, your email address, and the content of your message.

This data is used solely to understand your request, respond to you, follow up on the exchange, and prevent abuse. Processing is based on Wamigeek's legitimate interest in responding to received messages or, when your request concerns a pre-contractual step, on the execution of measures taken at your request.

Messages are kept for the duration necessary for their processing, and then for a maximum of twelve months after the last exchange, unless legally required or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend a right.

Comments

When you post a comment, WordPress may process the indicated name or pseudonym, email address, comment, IP address, technical browser information, and, if provided, your website address.

The name or pseudonym and the comment are intended to be published. The email address and IP address are not displayed publicly. This data is used to publish and moderate discussions, combat spam, and ensure site security. The processing is based on your request to publish and on Wamigeek's legitimate interest in moderating and securing its discussion space.

Approved comments remain accessible for the duration of the publication of the relevant article, unless removed early or upon a legitimate request from the author. Spam comments and their metadata are deleted according to WordPress and Akismet settings.

If you check the option to save your name, email address, and website in the browser, optional cookies are placed to simplify future comments.

Fighting spam with Akismet

Comments may be analyzed by Akismet, an Automattic service, to detect spam. Information transmitted may include the comment content, name, email address, IP address, browser user agent, the page concerned, and the website address.

This processing is based on Wamigeek's legitimate interest in protecting the site against spam. Akismet indicates that for the vast majority of its spam-related data, it applies retention periods between two weeks and ninety days. More information: https://akismet.com/privacy/.

Audience measurement with Burst Statistics

Wamigeek uses Burst Statistics to understand site traffic and improve its content. When you accept, Burst may process pages visited, referring URL, browser and device type, consultation duration, approximate country, and a random identifier stored in a proprietary cookie.

The cookie identifier is kept for thirty days. Information is stored in the WordPress database hosted for Wamigeek. Audience measurement using this identifier is based on your consent and should only start after your agreement in the cookie manager.

Detailed statistical data will be configured to be deleted or aggregated at the latest after thirteen months.

YouTube Videos

Some articles include videos hosted by YouTube, a Google service. A YouTube video will only be loaded after your consent for external content. If you accept, YouTube may receive your IP address, browser information, the page visited, and may set or read its own trackers. If you are logged into a Google account, this information may be associated with your account.

This processing is based on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time via the "Manage my cookies" link. More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Gravatar Avatars

Wamigeek currently uses Gravatar, a service from Automattic, to display certain profile images. An encrypted version of the email address associated with a comment may be used to check for the existence of an avatar. Loading an image from Gravatar also transmits technical information, including the IP address, to this service.

Wamigeek plans to limit these loads or host avatars locally when possible. More information: https://automattic.com/privacy/

Form protection by hCaptcha

Wamigeek plans to use hCaptcha, provided by Intuition Machines, Inc., to differentiate human users from bots and protect forms against abuse. This service is not yet active as of the update date of this policy.

When activated, it may process the IP address, technical data related to the browser and device, as well as interactions necessary for security evaluation. The processing will be based on Wamigeek's legitimate interest in securing its forms. More information: https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy.

Hosting and security

The site is hosted by PikaPods, exploited by Peakford Ltd. The pod was created in the European region. PikaPods indicates that data from a pod chosen in this region remains within the European Union.

When setting up `wamigeek.com`, Cloudflare can act as a DNS provider, a content delivery network, and a security protection service. Cloudflare will then be able to process the IP address and technical logs necessary for the provision, security, and defense of the site. This processing will be based on Wamigeek's legitimate interest in ensuring the availability and security of its service.

External backups, when enabled, will be stored in a Cloudflare R2 bucket subject to the European Union's jurisdiction restriction or, failing that, in an Amazon S3 European region.

Amazon Affiliation

Wamigeek may publish affiliate links to Amazon. The mere display of a text link does not necessarily result in transmission to Amazon. However, when you click on such a link, Amazon receives the technical information related to the visit and may use its own trackers in accordance with its privacy policy.

Affiliate links will be clearly marked. Wamigeek does not receive buyers' personal contact details; purchases and payments are made directly with Amazon.

Support by Buy Me a Coffee

Wamigeek may provide a link to Buy Me a Coffee, a service operated by Publisherr Inc. Payments are made on this provider's platform, which processes the necessary payment information under its own responsibility. Wamigeek does not receive the contributor's banking details.

Buy Me a Coffee is based in the United States. More information: https://buymeacoffee.com/privacy-policy.

Recipients

Data is accessible only to the editor of Wamigeek and, to the extent necessary for their tasks, to the technical providers mentioned in this policy: PikaPods, Automattic/Akismet, Gravatar, Google/YouTube, Cloudflare, hCaptcha, and any backup providers.

Wamigeek does not sell or rent your personal data.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers are established or may process data outside the European Union, particularly in the United States. Depending on the provider and the service, these transfers may be based on an adequacy decision, the EU-US data protection framework, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Visitors can consult provider policies via the links provided above.

Your Rights

Under the conditions set by the GDPR, you can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out previously.

You can exercise these rights using the contact form. A response will generally be provided within one month. Proof of identity will only be requested in case of reasonable doubt about the identity of the applicant.

You can also lodge a complaint with the National Commission on Informatics and Liberties (CNIL) : https://www.cnil.fr.

Policy Modification

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site, its services, or regulations. The date of the last modification is shown at the top of the page.
